In this new work, Jan Crawford first pays homage to her teacher and mentor, Bert Hellinger and to Hellinger facilitators, including Suzi Tucker and her Guided Learning in New York City. Like many who feel disconnected with their families, Crawford examines her own family history before she attempts to understand, forgive and reconcile. Crawford comes full circle in her relationships with her family and that constellation work itself involves stepping into a circle to heal one’s life.

“An intensely personal and brilliantly honest documentation of a large life lived on the path of reconciliation and healing.” –Hunter Beaumont, PhD, Chair, International Systemic Constellation Association

“Janice Crawford’s unwavering honesty and self-insight give the reader the opportunity to watch a beautiful flower blossom, petal by tender petal.” –Jean Smith, author of Now The Art of Being Truly Present

“It would be only clinically true to say that this book is about trauma. It is also about how a person’s spiritual and psychological paths may be in part an attempt to detour around the very resolutions that will bring the peace and freedom they seek. And it is about the joy when one does not.” –Sandra Weinberg, Co-Founder, New York Insight Meditation Society

This book is written for those who have no knowledge of systemic constellations as well as those who know it but who may not be aware of its fuller possibilities for themselves. Jan touches into those places about which we all share a common knowledge and wisdom. And I certainly share the author's hope as well that there could come a day when only maladies that might be useful to codify will be different kinds and levels of trauma, simply defined as "ruptures in the life force that overwhelm the nervous system and soul".

The Disorderly Soul Aligning with the Movement of Love edition by Jan Crawford Health Fitness Dieting eBooks Reviews

What struck me most was the courage Jan showed in questioning not only widely-held beliefs, but even her own professional training. But in return, she arrived at an unexpected place of reconciliation and peace.
A profound and courageous witnessing imbued with a longing for healing and be-coming! Long silent voices find in, "The Disorderly Soul" the heartbeat of generations gone in the midst of time. Jan Crawford provides a challenging testimony best read with patience and plenty of deep breaths. The message is clear and distinct to reach a state of peace with oneself, one needs to visit and sojourn with our ancestors, to hear the stories, their suffering and their joys. What emerges is the insight and understanding that their journeys are also embodied in our own. Another veil is removed with this book!
This book is an important addition to the Family Constellations and Systemic Constellation work developed by Bert Hellinger. It is written with deep honesty by a skilled healer who is on a serious spiritual path. As the author's own healing through Hellinger's work is described, the book offers insight into the depth of the power of the work, and also demystifies it to a great extent.
I was very moved by this book. The author writes with such candor and clarity and is a gifted teacher with her sharing. I was particularly excited about the chapter "The Difficult Therapist" and the new thinking/naming that Ms. Crawford is doing in her work.

Her expertise as a therapist shines through with the case histories, and her courage about her therapeutic mistakes is as inspiring as her obvious successes.

I am continuing to move with this book both in my mind and being days after finishing it.

Thank you Jan for this wonderful insightful and highly personal book. Jan's way of weaving her deepest, most intimate experiences into a story which everyone can relate too is a gift to all. If you are not familiar with Family Constellation work don't worry. Jan elegantly introduces simple, profound, principles of Bert Hellinger's Family Constellation therapy, through her rich story telling involving her maternal grandfather, who was jailed and murdered. Jan's exquisite, honest and open hearted approach, offers inspirational healing around taboo subjects. After reading Jan's book, therapists of any persuasion will want to explore and integrate Family Constellation work into their practices to produce fast, transformative results.
Much of what Jan writes about brings me closer to an awareness of the mysteries of my own life experiences. As a sibling shaped by the same environment the things she points out sear my consciousness. When you are surrounded by dysfunction but don't know it, as a child it all seems like it must be normal.

Hellinger's work has allowed us both to peek into our pasts and come into contact with some of the events and people that caused joy and chaos in our lives. This book can help the reader to understand, how to begin, to reconnect with their family's soul.
Reading The Disorderly Soul Aligning with the Movement of Love is a walk with the author down private paths that lead to deeper conversations regarding family dynamics, professional practices and the personal courage to heal.

The Disorderly Soul Aligning with the Movement of Love encourages us to embrace the strength that comes from including the songs of our ancestors into the rhythm of our own life voyage. Sharing personal reflections, Jan Crawford supports our private evaluation of where our inclusion or exclusion of our own family, ancestry, and history have generalized and currently either expand or contract our view of the horizon and actual possibilities. Gratitude to Jan Crawford for being willing to share this journey!
